I believe that there are habitual
concepts and terms that we should change, such as, for example, complementary
medicines.
When a therapeutic, a medication, a
medical practice is effective, the doctor who knows and uses it will simply
have to find its place in the treatment strategy. A therapy,
such as homeopathy, will sometimes occupy the main place in a treatment, others
will accompany and complement other medications or therapies and in many other
cases it will be the only one necessary to alleviate or cure the patient's
ailment. As I often say, there are
no good and bad medications but good and bad treatment strategies.
For me, homeopathy is not a complementary
medicine to which I turn when I think it may be worth it. For me, homeopathy
is a way to approach the pathology of the patient, to assess and interpret
their clinical studies and complementary tests, the signs and symptoms of their
disease, their history (clinical and personal) and thus, using the eyes
of the patient. homeopathy, get to the treatment that
I consider suitable for my patient. And
many times it will be only homeopathic medicines that I prescribe to my patient
because I consider that it is the best treatment strategy that I have among all
that I, as a doctor, am capable of using and proposing.
And, in relation to all this of what we
are talking about today, I wanted to share with you 10 habitual situations in
the consultation in which, based on my experience, I consider homeopathic
medicines as the best treatment option for its speed, effectiveness and
security. There they go:
1. Herpes.
Very few people have ever had a picture
of herpes, a "fever" of those that you get in your mouth or face when
you have a cold, flu, are tired or going through a time of great emotional
stress. Your defenses go down and the virus colonizes producing those
vesicular lesions so annoying and, let's face it, so unsightly.
For drugs such as APIS MELLIFICA, RHUS
TOXICODENDRUM or MEZEREUM, these lesions evolve surprisingly quickly, significantly
shortening the time of evolution and discomfort. I certainly
tell you that it is the fastest and most effective treatment I know. Spectacular.
2. The flu and common colds.
That the flu and colds are cured in seven
days without treatment and in a week with treatment ... is when you do not have
homeopathy. OSCILLOCOCCINUM, ALLIUM CEPA, NUX VOMICA, KALI BICHROMICUM,
CORYZALIA ... are just some of the medications that I usually use in the
treatment of these conditions and that allow me not only to improve symptoms
but to shorten the time of evolution, improve convalescence and avoid
complications .

3. Acute gastroenteritis.
These tables, which from the conventional
approach can only "observe and hydrate", have a very fast and
effective treatment with homeopathy. The medicines that I most
frequently use are ARSENICUM ALBUM, PODOPHYLLUM and ALOE COMPOSÉ, as I say,
among others. And, as you can imagine, it
is especially gratifying to have these medicines when we have to treat these
diarrhea in babies or in pregnant women.
4. Contagious molluscs.
These wartlike lesions that often occur
to children throughout the body can be a real ordeal because their usual way of
treating is quite aggressive and because recurrences after these treatments are
also quite frequent. And it is wonderful to see the face of the parents when they
return to the consultation and they tell you (and, of course, you see it) how
the lesions disappear without having to submit their child to curettages. My experience with these mollusks is extraordinary using
medicines such as CINNABARIS, DULCAMARA, THUJA or MEDORRHINUM. I remember a very curious and spectacular case that was cured
with PLATINA. In homeopathy, let's not
forget, you always have to try to individualize.
5. The papillomas.
In these lesions, also verrucous, that
appear on the soles of the feet, which are so painful many times and that, like
molluscs, have such an annoying treatment and often so ineffective, I have had
great results using drugs like THUYA , ANTIMONIUM CRUDUM and NITRICUM ACIDUM. They are
not the only medications that I have used, but they are the ones that have
given us the most joy, me and my patients.
6. Varicose ulcers.
It is very frequent that in people with
severe venous insufficiency the trophism of their skin, as a consequence of
this poor venous return, is altered so much that any small lesion that occurs
in it ends up in ulcers of very torpid evolution and very difficult to try. Medications
such as CARBO ANIMALIS, CARBO VEGETABILIS, SECALE, ARSENICUM ALBUM, or KALI
BICHROMICUM, among others, make the prognosis of these ulcers change completely
and we can see how they evolve towards healing.
7. Cough and colds.
There are many medications in homeopathy
indicated in cough, depending on the characteristics of this. But there
is one that I use very frequently and that, on many occasions, the same patient
tells you that they had already recommended it (a family member, friend, pharmacist
...), the STODAL. It is a broad-spectrum
cough medicine, that is, it allows you to treat different types of coughs with
the same medication. We can find it in the
pharmacy in the form of granules and syrup which allows you to choose the most
recommended dosage form depending on whether you are dealing with adults, the
elderly or children. even, babies.
8. Injuries.
In many cases before blows, sprains,
muscle overloads, contractures ... we only have the option of anti-inflammatory
that calms pain and inflammation without helping in the recovery process itself
and with serious problems of tolerance on the part of the patient in many
occasions. Here, medications such as ARNICA, RUTA, CUPRUM METALLICUM,
SYMPHYTUM, APIS, BRYONIA or LEDUM will not only improve the patient's
symptomatology but will shorten and optimize the healing process by stimulating
the reparative processes that the body sets in motion in these circumstances.
9. Colic of the infant.
What bad times and bad nights you can go
through something like colic babies and what little we can do unless we have
homeopathic medicines like COLOCYNTHIS, NUX VOMICA or LYCOPODIUM. Simple,
fast, efficient and safe.
10. Night terrors.
It is not something that happens to all
children but when they suffer they are very distressing, for parents and for
the child itself, and from a conventional approach we can do little more than
reassure parents until they pass.STRAMONIUM is not the only medication we can
use in these situations but it is probably the most frequent and the most
spectacular in its results.
And all this that I tell you is only a
small Top Ten of the most frequent ailments that I see in the
daily consultation. I could have done a Top 20 or a Top 30 because there are
really many clinical situations that we see daily in the consultation in which
the best treatment, the safest and most effective, turns out to be homeopathic.
But as I also
always say, the best medicine is what the patient needs. And if that
medicine is a homeopathic medicine, do not deny it.
